Backup is a strategy, a plan and a process. I do the = following:

(1)    Image system/boot drives nightly

(2)    Mirror application/file data across my machines multiple times = daily

(3)    Increment/save project files

(4)    Mirror all data to RAID 5 server stores = nightly

(5)    Backup that data as much off site as possible – the new twist = is the Time Warner upgraded speed to support 5 Mb/s uploads and = currently uploading 4TB to Crashplan to see if that’s feasible for = additional offsite storage. Initial backup obviously will take a couple = of months but after that should keep speed.

(6)    Own advanced undelete and recovery file utilities that support RAID = recovery, removable media recovery etc. – these have saved my = bacon as well as for colleagues several time.

A film is – or should be – more like music than like = fiction. It should be a progression of moods and feelings. The theme, = what’s behind the emotion, the meaning, all that comes = later.
