the 2711 is only slightly larger than the 2410 in height but is wider (16:9 vs 16:10) imho is well worth the resolution image quality and inputs.

As for the newest 2412 it is a step backwards than the 2410 featuring an 6bit+AFR e-IPS instead of the true 8bit H-IPS of its predecessor has slightly worse viewing angles, less connections and is edge led lit rather than ccfl which leads to less screen uniformity compared to the ccfl one but slightly better black point.

I'm a little late to the game on this discussion, but my monitor just crapped out on me and I need to replace it. I looked at Dell's website and I can't find the info I'm looking for on it.
I'm looking for a non-glossy 23 or 24 inch monitor for video and photo editing and graphics tasks. Several people here have mentioned the U2711. I don't want one quite that large (I have another 23-24 inch). However, on their site, I see the U2410 and U2412M and can't figure out whether either has the same qualities that people like in the U2711. I don't see a U2411, and I don't know what their numbering scheme means (if anything). Does such a thing exist (a U2411)?
It seems like the U2410 is closer to the U2711 than the U2412M, but their website so poorly describes their products that I can't really tell what it's saying. Has anyone decoded it?
