There's an overlay mode just below the white and black options that can be set to source or normal (I forget the name). This has always gotten the noise out for me. David Torno Visual Effects Artist & Supervisor O: 213.739.2290 C: 818.391.6060 --------------------- http://aeioweyou.blogspot.com

[AE} Keylight Chattering
Hey all. Happy New Year!
I’m working with Keylight and some well-shot ProRez 422 footage. I used to be able to pull perfect keys with Keylight in a few steps. Now I’m getting all this noise in the blacks.
I’ll set the Screen Colour, adjust the Clip Black and Clip white and be 90-percent there. Except I’m getting unacceptable chattering in the blacks. I look at the combined matte and there’s NO noise in the white area at all so I’m not sure what’s causing the chattering.
Interestingly, if I select “Intermediate Result” the chattering goes away completely, it’s only when “Final Result” is selected that I see it. Of course, with Intermediate result I’ll loose all the edge adjustments that I’ll eventually need.
Any clues?
