With Avid you can group clips into one clip with multiple camera views.
This has the options of sync using Time Code, In points or out points added as sync marks on the clips
Try this:
With clips highlighted in the same bin
Under Bin Menu choose Group Clips (Shift Command U) and pick your sync option.
This creates a single grouped clip that can be load into source monitor with options of principle audio tracks to follow.
Use multicam view in the source monitor to toggle camera views.
Laying the entire clip into the sequence lets you switch multiple camera (edits) real time on the single (grouped) clip as you play using keyboard short cuts. Change your mind - right click the edit clip and select the camera angle you need. Use trim rollers to adjust and fine tune the edit points after initial pass.

Subject: [AE] [OT] AVID Multigrouping
Hi,
I know It's not an AVID topic but maybe you know something good solution.
I am a switcher (as I think many of you) from FCP. I work many places so I have to use Premier and AVID too (later). But I have a problem I would like to set up a Multigroup (Multicam) sequence for a 3 camera recorded event. But this point It looks horrible.
To lay out the clips (form P2 camera) is easy with AutoSequence. This is a great function I have always missed It from FCP.
But after this step It's not for human what is comming.

Just in few words:
-Set up AUX TC for the cameras (why can's the AVID use the normal TC, the cameras are synced)
-Add edits at every camera start/stop point. (WTF?? for a 3 hour long High School party It's plenty work)
-Create subclips from your sequence (why? I have all the original clips with timecode why I have to make Subclips)
-Multigroup by AUX TC
So this is my problem. Do you have any better idea to solve It?
Thanks
Gary
