| So sad to hear, I never met Richard in person but wanted to, and I definitely learned from him.
I'll toast with the good scotch tonight!

If you haven't heard, our friend Richard Lainhart died yesterday in New York, from complications due to an infection following surgery.
Richard was an After Effects user from the earliest days. Together we co-founded the original New York After Effects User Group, where every week he presented--for free-- a trade-show quality demo about a feature, technique, or new piece of hardware that he had discovered. And as many of you know, Richard would always stop what he was doing to help find an answer to any technological problem you presented him. He was a brilliant mind, a talented designer, a gifted musician, and a very good friend.
While you are celebrating New Years' Eve tonight, if you are so inclined, please raise a glass to Richard. May he rest in peace.
