Following a lovely Christmas party on December 17th, Richard complained = of stomach pains. A visit to the doctor led to some tests which = ultimately revealed that Richard had developed intestinal cancer. He = went into surgery on December 21, and while the doctors discovered that = the cancer had not spread, there were complications which led to a = severe infection, and then pneumonia. He lost his life on December 30th, = shortly after 4pm. His wife Caroline, together with some friends, are arranging a memorial = service which will likely be held in mid-February, close to his = birthday.
