Have you Googled?  I haven't seen one personally.  But, it's a good idea.  Add an eSATA interface, while you're at it.

I did buy the CalDigit USB 3 PCI card for my Mac, and it's awesome.  USB3 is really fast, and I was editing multiple streams of Avid DNxHD off of a client-supplied external drive.

I've only seen one other brand for the Mac since buying it (HighPoint Tech... yucch).  I think you have many more options if you're on Windows.

FWIW, I don't have any slots left either, but I was happy to temporarily lose my LTO / ATTO H680 for the time it took to edit the project.  It was much faster in the long run than copying all the footage to my RAID at USB2 speeds.  Oy!

My client, when hiring me for this quick turnaround job at my place, failed to mention that all the footage I needed was on a USB3 drive with no other interface.  My options at the time were to copy over 1TB of footage at USB2 speed to my RAID for editing, about 36 hours later...

Or... to buy a USB3 card at 5 PM from CalDigit, have it overnight shipped, and work off the external USB3 drive the following morning.  I haven't used the card since, but it saved my butt on that job.

I can't lose the FW800 connectivity just for one drive, so does anyone know of a combo USB 3.0 / FW 800 pci card? Or have any ideas about adding USB 3.0 connectivity? I mean the drive can use regular usb2 but that seems to defeat the purpose of such a huge external. I may just have to wait until I get a new system...
