Both methods work to a point. About 3/4 full = the text box disappears and all the contents of it too. Only the anchor = point is visible on the stage. Double clicking the timeline layer will = reveal the bounding box again but it still appears empty, as if = populated by phantom characters. They are there, you just cannot see = them.

The same situation is = brought about by increasing the font size. With the text box filled to = 3/4 capacity I can increase the font size 1px at a time until it reaches = a limit where it will again disappear. It's not an overflow problem as = the box is nowhere near being full to overflow.

I booted up an old version of AE7 and was able = to fill a 1000x1000 text box, even beyond overflow (the overflowed = characters just disappeared but the rest of the text remained = visible).

Is this a bug in CS3, a = limitation of the text tool? OR could my instal have gotten borked. Or = is there one of those mythical hidden settings we all hope flipping a = switch on that will cure our ills?

I = do hope I dont have to reinstall, not right now anyway. But I need some = help as I'm stuck.

Here is a link to = download the TXT file and the AE file I'm using. *Bare in mind the = expression calls the absolute path to the TXT file so it wont work with = your set up.
