+1 for the DreamColor.  It has a nice compliment of inputs (analog & =
digital), but only works in DeepColor mode with a 60p HDMI input.  So, =
you need a converter such as the AJA HDP2 to feed it an HD-SDI or SDI =
input of other frame rates, and get the DeepColor mode.  That's what I =
have, and am very satisfied with the pair when used with FCP, Pr or Ae. =20=


I keep a spare MacPro on hand, and it's nice to be able to use the DVI =
inputs, and use the HP both as a TV monitor and a computer display.

I think I spent about $2300 on both; $1750 for the HP and $500 for the =
converter.  That's over your budget, but when I was researching, this =
was the best value proposition for this level of quality and function.  =
Also, HP sells a calibration kit (probe and software) for about $200 to =
keep it looking right.
