There's different ways of working. There are two = ways to get layers in AE from Premiere. The most common is select some = clips/layers in PPro and right click to "replace with After Effects = Composition". You get an AE comp via Dynamic linking.=20 You say you don't want Dynamic Linking, so I meant to suggest that you = can copy and paste a glob (technical term) of clips from Ppro to and AE = comp. They will come in just fine as layers, all strung out and = everything. Very slick.
