As I recall FCP6 does = not work on Lion, so you would have to stay with OSX 10.6.8. Apple recommends installing FCPX on a separate partition, but in = practice FCP7 and FCPX coexist just fine (I've been using both here for = awhile). I assume FCP6 would be fine too, but Google will probably help = here. You cannot have both versions open at the same time. There is a = specific way of installing as FCP7 and FCPX have the same name: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4722 There is a $10 app that gets you from FCP7 to FCPX via XML. I assume = that it doesn't work for FCP6 but you can check with the developer.=20 James On Feb 2, 2012, at 6:54 AM, Paul Crisanti wrote: > The good keying has me interested in FCP for that feature.=20 > Could I run FPC 6 AND X on the same machine in OS 10.6? > Do v6 project import properly into v10? > Dreaming? >=20 > On Feb 1, 2012, at 11:12 PM, Sharon Etter wrote: >=20 >> I'm impressed -=20 >> built-in Light Wrap - >> (and the Spill Suppression doesn't add noise & need massive tweaking = like >> Keylight) -=20 >>=20 >>=20 >> On 2/02/12 4:33 AM, "Jim Feeley" wrote: >>=20 >>> Gary Adcock writes in Macworld, >>>=20 >>> "FCP X 10.0.3 contains, without a doubt, the best keyer of any NLE, = and >>> rivals the abilities of dedicated production tools like Adobe After >>> Effects and Autodesk=B9s Smoke 2012 for Mac." >>>=20 >>> Here's the article: >>> = http://www.macworld.com/article/165108/2012/01/first_look_final_cut_pro_x_= >>> 10_0_3_restores_professional_features_adds_notable_new_ones.html >>>=20 >>>=20 >>> I'm not trying to start a fight.
