I got close to using one of the scripts on AE scripts except... it probably would of changed the order of the images that had been laid out to a story board and I wasn't gonna foul up some one else's game plan. in the end, as usual, tweaked it all out by hand with a pair of guides :/

next time I'll go for one of these.thank you every one !

This is useful to design a basic layout, as everything is controlled by sliders.  I often convert the expressions to keyframes after getting it right, though, which allows you to continue working normally.
