| you need to give them what they want. as noted several networks are 720. there is nothing wrong with 720. its a lot easier to work with. however... even youtube can handle 1080 these days, and thats not even 1:1 pixels on a 27" apple display at 2500ishX1440. I used 720 as the house format for many years. this worked fine given that until 2 or 3 years ago, most 1080 displays where 1344X768 or whatever that odd res was. so 25% of your 1080 pixels got tossed anyway. it was for the most part a waste of time, processing and pixels. now thats all changed with most displays being true 1:1 1080 or better. these days I'm all 1080p. if they want interlace, that happens on output. if they want 720p, scale down. thats really the best way to do it, and you'll never have to answer questions about the quality of upscaling 720->1080, even if it generally looks ok. s On Feb 13, 2012, at 3:03 PM, patrick siemer wrote:
