Weird that it isn't mounting in OSX, sounds like the drive might have issues.

I believe that micorosoft offers a 30 day trial on some versions of Windows.

I think it would be easier to try and find somebody that has a windows box you can quickly plug into and try it out.

Before you drop 200 bucks, are you near anyone with a Windows machine? In what sector of the planet are you located?

I just got a drive from my client with footage on it for a big AE project.  I gave him an external Maxtor, which I allowed him to reformat.  He says he formatted it NTFS, and put a bunch of footage on it, from a Windows system.

When I attempt to mount it on three of my Macs, I get the "This disk is unreadable..." message.  I've tried it with NTFS Mounter turned on and off, to the same result.

I have been able many times in the past to mount NTFS volumes.  And FAT-32, etc.

Will installing Windows 7 on a spare disk help?  That's $200 for a shot in the dark.

Or, can anybody think of something else I can try?

Thanks,
Jim C.
