Something I do alot for motion blurred areas is handtracking and track averaging. Hand tracking just means positioning the tracker by hand (often on every frame), and averaging means doing that 4 times, then averaging the 4 slightly different results together to get a really good, solid track. If you have a bunch of shots to track, its probably not practical to handtrack them all. But sometimes, a frame is just far too motion blurred to do it any other way.
If you can get a decent track of the area 2 or more times, TrackerViz can easily do the averaging for you. You just select the tracks and click a button, super easy.

By having it sample the area around the pixel you can compensate for the motion blur without having to match it with your compositions motion blur settings.
