Yeah, sometimes hand tracking is all you can do. I've been using
Command-Left and Command Right and just the arrow keys themselves
lately to do the manual tracking without having to lift my fingers off
the keyboard. Being able to quickly flip back and forth between frames
means I can pretty quickly see whether a point is locked without
having to do averaging. I also have a habit of flipping forward a few
frames to see where the motion of an object shifts. Let's me get away
with only setting track points every few frames sometimes.
