I will but it seems like with the right type of warping plugin and something to be able to check alignment, combined with some blending masking might work if I understand how stitching software works…It just the AE does have flexible warp tools unless you went crazy with mesh warp but it really bogs down when you get fine plus it’s UI is not great with fine warping.

A film is – or should be – more like music than like fiction. It should be a progression of moods and feelings. The theme, what’s behind the emotion, the meaning, all that comes later.

Stephen, I cannot speak for Lutz (mylenium) -  just giving him the nod on the Cubic map stitching project he put together recently.  If you can get someone to sponsor this endeavour  you can commission Lutz and then maybe you can sell it on your site and get even further funding for your project. Touch base with Lutz, he may take it on.

Chris,

That’s a possible thought though I supposed it would depending on the amount. Perhaps maybe something that if developed for the film Mylenium could then sell on his own. There are quite a few open source tools for stills: e.g. http://panotools.sourceforge.net/ but I have no idea how complicated adapting these for AE would be.

However, given the surge in interest in timelapse photography as well as panoramic, seems like a market niche.
