Whoah. Try turning off = disk caching completely. It's possible there's a bug with the prefe= rence or some other subtlety, but this isn't something I've seen be= fore.

hi all
since upgrading to AE 5.5 on my MacbookPro 17 i7 OSX 10.6.7 i've been g= etting a lot of odd behavior/crashes that seem to be mostly related to Open= GL. i'll be scrubbing the timeline to find a cue and AE will sometimes= crash and generate a new save and sometimes just beachball. i have a coupl= e of projects that have a bit of unavoidable bloat that take a long time to= open, and i also have been continually getting errors that my startup disk= is full. when i check my drive it shows 15MB free space, and upon closing = AE it goes back to about 30gig. i have capped my disk cache in prefs so i&#= 39;m at a loss to track down that one. and now one of the large projects wo= n't open at all - beachballs on "open project." smaller proje= cts open swiftly.
any thoughts would be appreciated - i am about to try importing the project= into a fresh one.
cheers
