Just made a test 1080p comp, made a solid, then applied optical flares. Checked use GPU on and off about 10x slow and quick, it updated in the window, but no crashes at all on that front.

I have a project that i inherited from someone else, and when ever i open it, it will crash. This thing is built really poorly and has about 400 comps in it, with a lot of them being version numbered from other comps, etc. I only open it when i need something out of it, since it is such a mess, and the only way i can open it is to hold down shift while it opens to force it not to open any comps that they left open. I tried closing them all, and resaving the file as a new one, but still, shift is the only way to it for me.

But i have not seen near any of the problems on my all my machines running lion that others report. I did take my time and build a clean system, since it is against my policies to upgrade from 10.x to another major update. I also will never run the delta updates from software upgrade, only the combo updates. That fixes 99% of the problems people ask me about.

Another thing i know a lot of people do is move plugins from one AE folder to another, that is another thing i suggest against. I will usually figure out a day when i can put aside to build a machine and made it all fresh and good.
