FreeForm V2 replaces the bundled version (Digieffects FreeForm) Available on Mac + Windows. Same features but up to 8x faster than the bundled version. Free flag project file available for use with FreeForm V2. See: http://www.mettle.com/Products/FreeForm-V2.php

FreeForm Pro is available for NVIDIA equipped Macs e-mail me directly chris@mettle.com
Available for ATI or NVIDIA on Windows.

All require CS5 or higher.

Check out Eran Stern’s tut - he does a bit of a comparison between FF V2 + FF pro : http://www.sternfx.com/tutorials/110
Ran Ben Avraham touches on this too, including a RAM preview comparison between the bundled version and FF V2.

Free project files on both of the above links.

Sure this has been covered a gazzilion times so I apologise if it is trite. I've been searching the web for options for creating a very stylized flag graphic in AE CS3 on a Mac. I do not need realism, just a very ilustritive approximation of a flag motion on a pre-comp.

It seems my options are thus:
upgrade to AE5.5 for $949 to get FreeForm
get Zaxwerks 3DFlag for $199

FreeForm Pro is not available for Mac it seems which is too bad as the mettle products look super cool. FreeFormAE is no longer available from DigiEffects now it is bundled with AE CS5

Are there nay other options available to me that I missed? Is FreeForm worth the extra outlay (aside from the other obvious benefits to CS5.5). There is not a huge budget to this project and the flag element is one of hundreds. Trying to be economical and judicious.
