Reinforcing the point: In my case, they took 24 fps film, slowed it down to 23.976 video, and asked us to cut it against music. Their workflow was to lay the music back in against the film themselves. Unfortunately, the music they provided to us had not been through the same chain as the visuals, so we had to slow down the audio by the same amount to keep things in relative sync.
