Yes, the sync is one-way.  One designer works on "AE project A" and another hasn"AE project A" nested inside their comp.  Whenever "AE project A" is updated, all of the updates are passed into the comp that "AE project A" is nested in, without duplicating any footage or comps.

We are hoping it can really speed things up for those that work in a team environment or that break up projects between multiple artists.   A little planning on the front-end really speeds things up though once you get used to the workflow.

So the sync is basically one way, yes?  So workflow wise…  would need to establish that only one designer modifies the comps related to element "X"

It's impressive you got this to work at all, as Jayse said, "For every new issue this may bring up - this will be an extremely welcome time saver! "  totally agree with that!

Thanks Jayse, I wish we had heard from you earlier, we've been in beta testing for several months and your projects would've been the perfect stress test!

To answer your question, in this instance the imported comp that you modified would be replaced by the comp in the external project. This is really the only "gotcha" to the plug-in, it will involve a change in your pre-production planning. There would be no warning, but you have to confirm that you want to sync the project, and you have the option to save your project as an increment before it does it's sync. At least this way you would have a fall back file in case you needed to go back to the old version.

Thanks again for your support and feedback,
