If it's a Mac Pro, and there are no nVidia options available, get the =
cheapest ATI option, then by all means don't get the RAM from Apple, get =
it from a third party and put it in yourself. You'll save hundreds of =
dollars that you can put towards an nVidia card, replacing the cheap ATI =
card. Someone else on the list can probably recommend something cheaper =
than the Quadra 4000 that will serve you well. A decent nVidia game card =
(GTX 480, GTX 580) will really rock the CUDA, if the Mac Pro supports =
it. Sorry if your IT department is inflexible about this... Apple could =
certainly make it easier by offering more options.
