Well said - having spent the 90's as IT consultant, people always argue
about  hardware and OS's, but the real focus needs to be on software. Smart
technology buyers seek a hardware platform and OS to that runs the software
you want to run and/or have a huge investment in, not the other way around.

The issue for current Apple shops, small or big, is will their continue to
be hardware platform and OS to support the software they run. Personally, I
think we all, Mac and Windows (and Linux) users lose if Apple moves away.
Hopefully, at worst, they will license, spin-off or some other way ensure
the platform will go on. Hell, it took me a long time to get my Hackintosh
built...

I think the Mac Pros should continue in some form, but it would be nice to
see both Mac Pros and iMac lines get more choices in CPU (6 core single
CPU's especially). Given the modest engineering changes required to update
Mac Pros, it seems likely Mac Pros will continue to be made.

Hell, they could just use a reference Intel board, a boot EFI (plenty of
single programmers have written them for Hackintosh use) and stock parts all
around, outsource a case design and stick it in the Apple store with a huge
markup. They could make those until the end of time at minimal cost and
overheard other than support/warranty.

A film is - or should be - more like music than like fiction. It should be a
progression of moods and feelings. The theme, what's behind the emotion, the
meaning, all that comes later.
