Thanks for the info. I found the client has a Matrox MXO box for monitoring and that probably is unhappy with FCP7s confusion.

This has been a problem I've had also for a long time. Any animation codec file from AE is always read as upper field in FCP 7 I have to change it to progressive or none before putting it on the time line.
