I had asked this previously, but it got buried in other discussion.

I deal with clients that sometimes need me to open an old project I worked on for them from a year or 2 ago.  Considering this for future efforts, I know Adobe is trying to maximize the previous version compatability, but in all fairness, there'll probably be some situations where that's not the best option, and opening up an older version of AE will be faster.

Also, sometimes I don't like to upgrade versions in the middle of heavy work periods throughout the year. Better to finish off projects in one version than upgrade in the middle.

Moving forward, having CS6 installed and when CS7 comes out, will we be able to keep both versions running on one system? Or will cs6 become deauthirized and inaccessable?  If I upgrade to Cs7 and remove Cs6 or get a new hard drive, will I still be able to access CS6 at all after Cs7 has come out? Or am I stuck with only current versions available for download and use?
