We did it last year when FCPX blew itself out of the water for us -
switched to Premiere - never looked back - "why didn't we do this
sooner?" came to mind several times. Premiere is not without its own
quirks, but Abobe are CLEARLY listening, and a few of those quirks
appear to have been eliminated or mitigated in the CS6 release coming
up.
The biggest plus right off the bat for us was the fact that you could
map your FCP shortcuts to Premiere. That was huge. Along with the
almost-seamless integration with After Effects. Finally, the Quadro
4000 video card performance increase was stunning.
