Thanks, Todd!  For everybody else, I think he may be referring to my post on the Adobe Pr forum with my wish list for Pr CS7.

Tony, I'm very happy with the switch.  I got a CUDA card for my Mac, and the real-time is impressive.  Steve Oakley here did a pretty good job convincing me to get the Quadro 4000.

There are still some shortcomings, which I put in my post, but I have discovered that Ae and Pr work really well together.

I even use Pr to open my old FCP7 projects, and FCP7 projects that I still get handed off fairly regularly.  There are many advantages to using Pr over FCP.  One of the main ones for me is sending Sequences to AME for encoding, while I continue to work in Pr.

A recurring thread on the Adobe Pr forum is that Mac performance isn't as good, reliable, snappy, etc. as with Windows systems.  My own worst experiences are related to shuttling, (now Skimming, by Apple).  Depending on the codec, I can drag my CTI in the timeline, and either get very slow updating or none at all.  This comes and goes, and my guess it's related to some background process.  And the performance with a Kona card is abjectly miserable.  But, supposedly that's getting a new life in CS6, and that's something I anticipate eagerly.

There is ONE THING that FCP does far better (IMO): Track Mattes.  I keep hoping the squeaky wheel factor will kick in soon.  Maybe by CS6.5? Please?  Pretty please?

Jim
