I've never used FCP.  Moved directly from Media 100 (remember them?) to Premiere Pro 1.5 on Windows and the full production suite (or what ever it was called) and never looked back.  The old Premiere was a nightmare, but I've been making money with Windows and Premiere Pro from day one.  Fear of using Premiere Pro and Windows is greatly exaggerated, IMHO.
