I have an off-the-shelf GTX-570 running in my MacPro 3.1. The CUDA = drivers for Mac seem to work with this card and it allowed me to install = DaVinci Resolve and FCP X. The downside is no boot screens so if you = need to fix a problem that requires your being able to see the boot = screens your option is to put another card in the case or put the MacPro = into terminal mode to fix a problem using another computer. It also = causes Video CoPilot's Optical Flares to reliably crash After Effects if = you forget to turn off the GPU acceleration before opening the Optical = Flare interface. It does seem to help out in Premier Pro though it's not = something I would recommend for most people.
