While the GPU stuff in AE/Premiere is great to have, I really think Adobe
should have put more resources on supporting more cards. I think everyone
would have benefit with 10 or 20% less overall performance and maybe loss of
a feature or two to get wide support across cards. This is the tact Vegas
used http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/vegaspro/gpuacceleration - and
literally hundreds of cards and both nVidia and ATI get dramatic benefit
there.

I suspect, like the Premiere support, a hack for non-supported card in AE
will be available due to frustrations with unsupported cards. There is no
such hack for Vegas because none is really needed.
