As i understand the new raytracer in AE, then it is built on nVidia OptiX technology, so i guess it will never provide AMD support. 
But hopefully Adobe will make the Classic 3d render support 3d geometry too.... someday.

Any chance that the 3D renderer will support the OpenCL cards? Or It's too slow for It?

AE uses only nvidia as of right now though, but the original post was
for PPro.
Also, not really accurate. There is only one feature that requires one of a specific set of Nvidia cards: the GPU acceleration of the ray-traced 3D renderer. There are many other GPU features that do not require this specific hardware.
