Or try copying and pasting the mask to a larger solid - if you re-size th=
e solid the mask will be resized along with it, but if you copy it first,=
 then re-size, then paste, the mask will retain its original size and pos=
ition.

Use the "pan behind" tool "Y" on the keyboard.

You should be able to slip the solid to the left.
