Thanks, Chris. The only other software I've added is Mac Keeper, but I had one incident where my audio stuck muted and file types weren't recognized in Finder prior to that install.
I'm still a bit baffled, but hopefully Apple can prove or disprove my theory that the 10.7.4 update did it.
I'll update right after the call. :-)
Sent from my iPhone Interesting to hear you think the audio problem was related to 10.7.4. I thought it was a conflict between AE CS6 and SoundSource (what I use for quick switching of my audio I/O), but the OS might be it.
Actually, now that I look at some dates, I was having audio issues before 10.7.4 was released. I'm trying running without SoundSource now; seeing if that cures it.
good luck - Chris

I know this is a bit off topic, but it screwed up my AE workflow as much as it did all of my other workflows. My 12-core has gone wonky since updating to 10.7.4. My volume was staying forced to mute, my videos would not play - iTunes, any format sitting in Finder, nothing. Music wouldn't play. Finder didn't recognize and preview files of any kind. Premiere CS6 wouldn't run for more than a few minutes without crashing.
I should've updated a less important computer first, but I guess I was still high off the CS6 update and was running without looking where I was going.
Anywho, I added the Client Combo version manually
(http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1524?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US) and things are working again for now, except Premiere CS6 keeps crashing. All I have to do is change the text in a title and then output my file, but it's not letting me. I also was able to get things working for a day by restarting, but the last time it went south I added the Client Combo. I'm fully expecting things to screw up again.
I have a call with Apple 9am tomorrow, but my hopes are low.
I'll get it figured out and update.
Anybody else see anything weird with 10.7.4?
