Man, that is the script I was looking for yesterday!
Used it years ago, but couldn't recall its name
Can you share with me?

Thanks!

Hi
I have an old nabscript called "transformMasks" that makes it possible to shift, scale and rotate even animated masks, something the built in pan behind tool doesn't support. But i don't see it on his site anymore http://www.nabscripts.com/downloads_en.html, or his profile on aescript.
I don't think i can attach files to this maillist, but i can send it to you if you would like. It was provided as a free download at some time, so i don't think he have a problem with that :-)
It has saved me a couple of times when i was in a similar situation as you.

Lol, not sure why, but I just tried it again and it totally worked! Since my layer is auto orienting towards camera there's a slight shift, but totally better to deal with than redoing or adding new layers. Thanks Phil.
Alex: Good to know about those scripts. I miss a lot of the new releases on AEScripts, and I'm a contributor. :)
Chris: I was thinking the same thing, thankfully Phil's solution saved me the extra work. Thanks for the help.

Weird, I just tried the pan behind tool and it works exactly as I thought it would, the masks don't move but the layer does.

The copy paste method did the same, it was offset when pasted onto a correctly sized solid.
I was trying to find a plugin that used mask info to set the matte that way, but they seem to use the channels only, not the mask paths. I had tried Set Matte. :(

You should be able to slip the solid to the left.

Problem is that the layer was offset on the Anchor Point and now the mask extends outside of the layer boundries. Is there any way to keep the mask put and slide the solid over to fill the overlapping gap? Open to suggestions.

Premiere and QT issues since OSX 10.7.4 update I can't say it was 10.7.4, but my file corruption issues that I've been posting about on the IMUG forum have been on a 10.7.4 computer. I haven't seen this happen on a 10.7.3 machine yet...
I've removed some 3rd party QuickTime plugins from the Library/QuickTime folder (DIVX and Google Camera Adabpter) and have had better stability... I think Eric mentioned he did something similar, too. Brian

I know this is a bit off topic, but it screwed up my AE workflow as much as it did all of my other workflows. My 12-core has gone wonky since updating to 10.7.4. My volume was staying forced to mute, my videos would not play - iTunes, any format sitting in Finder, nothing. Music wouldn't play. Finder didn't recognize and preview files of any kind. Premiere CS6 wouldn't run for more than a few minutes without crashing.
I should've updated a less important computer first, but I guess I was still high off the CS6 update and was running without looking where I was going.
Anywho, I added the Client Combo version manually (http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1524?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US) and things are working again for now, except Premiere CS6 keeps crashing. All I have to do is change the text in a title and then output my file, but it's not letting me. I also was able to get things working for a day by restarting, but the last time it went south I added the Client Combo. I'm fully expecting things to screw up again.
I have a call with Apple 9am tomorrow, but my hopes are low.
I'll get it figured out and update.
Anybody else see anything weird with 10.7.4?
