In my experience the GTX 580 with 3GB VRAM is a great buy right now, performing 20% faster than the newer gtx 680 in CUDA compute tests with the CS6 11.0.1 update. A 590 would offer even better performance= . And a caveat for those looking to run CUDA on AE with the 680 and the patch update - you'll need to have the older nvidia 301.1 drivers for AE to work (at least I did) On Tue, May 29, 2012 at 4:22 PM, Greg Bacon wrote: > Since there has been a number of suggestions on which card to buy for > optimum CS6 performance, I found this article on NVIDIA's website for tho= se > that are interested in their cards=85 > > > http://blogs.nvidia.com/2012/05/choosing-the-right-gpu-to-take-adobe-work= flows-to-the-max/ > > They break it down to for the different CS6 workflows; production > premium, Premiere, AE, SpeedGrade, etc. > * > * > My apologies if someone else has already mentioned this page! > > Greg > > =95=95=95=95=95=95=95=95=95 > Greg Bacon > Sr. Animator > Office of Public Outreach > Space Telescope Science Institute > Baltimore, Maryland 21218 > 410.338.4478 > --=20 Animator & Editor www.teddygage.com Brooklyn --f46d042c5ed7e5745a04c133790a Content-Type: text/html; charset=windows-1252 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable This is a great buyer's guide for those looking at Quadros, but the con= sumer GTX cards offer similar to even better raw CUDA performance for half = the price. They break it down to =A0for the different CS6 workflows; production p= remium, Premiere, AE, SpeedGrade, etc.

My apologies if someone else has already mentioned this page!
