Something weird is happening with it. I started to delete the red fonts, and then re-import them. I get an error message or three for each font I try to import, then the font comes in OK.

And this is after cleaning all the caches. When I use the "Reveal in Finder" command on a red font, it does nothing, like the link to the font has been lost. But, I don't see a "relink" command.
Booting back into 10.6.8, most of my fonts are black, as normal, working fine.
I suppose I'll have to go ahead and devote a few days to re-installing my fonts on the Lion partition, and re-categorizing them.
If anybody has any ideas on if there's a way to restore or relink to my vast font collection short of starting over, I'd be grateful to hear them.

That may be it. I'm on the latest free version, 1.2.3. I guess it's time to pony up for the real deal.
But, I'll try as you suggested before I upgrade. I'm still a bit wary of Lion. 10.6.8 is working so well.
Thank you, Jim C.
do you have the lastest fontexplorer installed? (v 3.1.1). i have cs6 installed on os x 10.7.4 and have no issues with fontexplorer. try clearing the system and app font caches in the tools menu in fontexplorer, then refresh fonts, also under the tools menu

FontExplorerX is reporting that most of my thousands of fonts are missing a font file or damaged They show up on my Library list in red. There's no preview of the fonts where there used to be in 10.6.x.
