I'm trying to get my head around Adobe's decision to go with the ray traced renderer they did in AE6. It seems to me an interesting choice, given the slow render times and hardware dependencies they've introduced with this. There are plenty of good looking renderers out there that are much, much faster. So why did they go this way?
I'm not trying to be overly critical, I'm truly wondering what made them choose this path.
