Jarret,

I have Used Camera Bits (camerabits.com) Photomechanic for years, primarily for still images Its supports video as well, but does not recognize all wrappers (MXF for one.) It’s a solid program with great support. It will ingest from multiple sources concurrently while applying common metadata in the process. It’s greatest strengths are stability and speed.

It may not fit your needs, but I can’t imagine any discussion of media managers not including PhotoMechanic.

There is a 30 day trial version.

Subject: [AE] Media manager/alternative to Bridge

Hi everyone

I'm wondering whether anyone knows of an alternative to Bridge? For years I used iView MediaPro which was fantastic, but alas, it's no more. Pixa is a great alternative but it doesn't handle footage so no go on that front. Bridge basically does what I need (albeit not very elegantly) but I find it to be incredibly buggy to the point where I find myself avoiding it.

Anyhow, I hope this isn't considered too off-topic. Thanks in advance for any advice,

Jarret
