From: Jim Curtis In-reply-to: Date: Thu, 07 Jun 2012 09:16:49 -0500 Message-id: References: To: After Effects Mail List X-Mailer: Apple Mail (2.1278) I'm setting up a new workstation from my spare MacPro3,1. I turned down work this year, and have decided to bring in a freelancer to help me rather than do that again. I have a 16 GB package arriving soon (4 x 4 G sticks). Currently, that machine has 8 GB consisting of 2x2G sticks, and 4 x 1G sticks. (It has 8 slots for a max of 32G.) Is there any downside to having four matched 4G sticks in the same machine as two 2G sticks and two 1G sticks? I hardly see people listing 22G in their MacPro. Does it matter? As long as they're all 800 MHz ECC FB-DIMM:R, just different sizes? TIA, Jim C. .
