have the 285, 480, 580, 680, q4000 and q4800 so far
was just saying that the only card someone from adobe could "officially" talk about is the currently shipping q4000

True, but my GTX 570 in my MacPro 3.1 runs fine and was pretty cheap. The only downside is no boot screens. If I need to do something that has to be done before the computer boots I run the MacPro in Target disk mode through my MacBook Pro. In six months I only had to do that once. Just make sure, if that's a route you choose, to install the NVidia drivers first. On Lion that's all you need. (other than the @#$% power cables for the card to connect to the mother board)
