I'd throw into the idea pot, that when considering what card to get for AE CS6, go for the one with more RAM. If you want to start using environment maps to wrap around your world, you're talking huge files* to get acceptable resolution for HD or film output, and that huge file needs to fit onto the video card's RAM along with all your other layers plus margin left over for everything else. (Or else AE downsamples the map, in theory; me, I tend to get less elegant failures.) Frankly, I'd be uncomfortable with only 1 GB of video memory.

(*Back of napkin math for enviro map resolution: take your comp width, x 360 degrees, divided by your angle of view, and you'd want at least that wide of an enviro map to remain pixel-crisp; more, considering it's spherically mapped and not a flat plane. With a 2:1 aspect ratio, so roughly 18k x 9k for pixels total 1920 HD. Times color channels, time bit depth…)
