Which I'd be a lot more sanguine = about if we'd spent the last couple of years drowning in a profusion of = TB accessories. But the fact is, I've gone a product cycle on some = machines without ever having something to attach. Please don't mention = the Promise RAID that for months one couldn't get a cable for. And without a cheap TB-FW adapter (I know Atto has an expensive one - = where can I get them for under $75?), we're just orphaning yet another = generation of storage technology, this time DV and HDV cameras and = tapes. As it has been for a while, one needed a cable that doesn't exist = - 4-pin to FW800. Yes, easy enough with adapters and hubs to bridge, but = the point remains. Apple has NEVER given much thought to archive access. Another question - whether FW attached via TB or USB3 would even be = recognized by editing software as a valid capture source?
