That sounds about right... On an overclocked gtx 580 with 3 gb ram the fastest time I got was 5 min 25 seconds. My base CPU was overclocked as well, and like chris said when ray tracing AE uses one core. 6:51 is pretty good, close to what I got on the gtx 680

After multiple tries…first ones suggesting up to 15 minutes when only 50% rendered…I tried different settings (brand new CS6 install so all my previous prefs were gone) and finally got it down to 6:51.   That’s with ray-tracing quality set to default of 5, multi-frame simultaneous and 3GB (of 24GB) reserved for other applications.  The first renders suggesting 15 mins had default 6GB of RAM reserved.

This is on a dual Xeon quad core HP Z800 w/24GB RAM; Quadro 5000 CUDA card.

There are currently two benchmark projects floating around. I came up with one that I hosted here: www.teddygage.com/AEBENCHCS6/ - it's a scene with glossy reflections and refraction - three 3d figures spinning around. render times are roughly between 5 minutes for high end up to about 20 minutes. There is another benchmark that rendernyc came up with that has a robot and takes a bit longer to render (13-45 minutes). you'll have to contact him about that project

Been off 4 weeks for knee replacement and have only modestly followed this thread.  I see your reference to a benchmark render or project. Where can I get that?  I'd like to test with my system, recently upgraded to include Quadro 5000 graphics.

AEbenchCS6: Mac Pro 3.1, 16 gigs ram, GTX 470 1.25 gigs of ram, render time was 8:13.
