I have to say, that "incremental upgrade" is a "do not buy" at the price.
That's a substantial downgrade from current shipping tech and missing
internal and external SATA 6gb
and Thunderbolt not mention old CPU tech.
They should have dropped the price 25-40% if that's what they are calling an
upgrade. Clearly, they wanted to use all the same parts and not even upgrade
the motherboard firmware. That's a really, really lame "upgrade".

Apple has almost never done that - they go big or not at all. This looks a
lot like how they handled the demise of things like Shake, Logic on Windows,
FCP etc. Spring/Summer is typically pro release window - everything from NAB
to Adobe to many other vendors avoid holiday season releases. I really
expected at least more update to the Mac Pro given the engineering ease of
doing it
