| Well, as far as "small and light" in the context of the "pro", there's something to be said for working in the field and being able to slam some roughs together to see if you need to do some pick-up shots or whatever. Or if you're shooting a documentary in the wild. Or in tight spaces in the city for that matter. I think the tools are still relatively dictated by the project needs, whether it be Varicam, Arri, Phantom, Red, DSLR, GoPro, etc., etc. I've not seen a Swiss Army camera or post workstation (though some are quite versatile). I think being a "Pro" is defined by using the right tools to deliver high quality results on time, under budget, and to the client's satisfaction...without ever freaking out :) |
