| Was that available light? Stage light? Or did you light it up? We've done 120 but lit the place for it. I haven't used the F3 but I had a buddy send me some test footage from his but it wasn't really good for making any kind of noise comparisons.
Have you watched the Zacuto camera shoot out series? Good stuff. http://www.zacuto.com/the-great-camera-shootout-2011On Jun 14, 2012, at 11:03 AM, Jack Tunnicliffe wrote: True, but I just did a dance piece all shot 120fps on an Epic and a Sony F3 with an HD finish and I thought the F3 looked better. The large F3 pixels gather more light at those higher speeds and so the image has less noise. The maximum image on the Epic was about 60 divisions and had to be boosted to 100 divisions adding additional noise. Now the Epic wasn't terribly noisy but I could certainly see the difference on a good monitor.

Many shots are repositioned and zoomed up as much as 200%. You can't do this with something that's 1920x1080 in the first place. You can zoom in a little but now 200% to make a single out of a wide shot.
