Ideally it' d be nice if both comp viewers could display at full
quality without having a hit in performance.
The reason I compromise with low rez in working comp viewer is
whenever I drag out a second comp viewer having both in full rez,
there is a substantial delay in refreshing the image.
As for its usefulness, I use it both ways, one comp viewer (work
one) zooming in and out, the other, fixed full-screen to see the
overall look.
I use the same in PS etc, by expanding the navigator window to a
secondary monitor full screen as I'm detailing on main monitor.
FWIW PS displays a sharper image in the navigator than in main
window when its not at 100% zoom factor.

Exactly.
By linking the resolution of each comp view, AE only has to render
the frame once per frame. De-coupling this could make a frame
render happen N times per frame. I'm assuming that's why it
behaves this way right now.

To be clear, he's talking
Resolution (where fewer pixels are calculated, speeding up
interactivity for large comps), not Magnification (which
is how many pixels are viewed).

Out ofcuriosity, what
benefit do you get out of two viewers with one at
100% and the other at less than 100%?

Hello all,
is it possible to have two comp viewers of
the same comp, one to display at 100%

At the moment any change I make affects both
comp viewers.
Thanks
