The footage is already affected by your physical camera move, you don't want to apply an additional AE camera move to it :) That said you can parent your footage with the 3D switch on to the tracked camera. This gives you an interesting option: duplicate the tracked camera and apply a smooth() expression to its transform data to stabilize your source footage. This works really well in my experience. This was going to be my first guess. The footage is already affected by = your physical camera move, you don't want to apply an additional AE cam= era move to it :)

That said you can parent your footage with the 3D switch on to the track= ed camera. This gives you an interesting option: duplicate the tracked came= ra and apply a smooth() expression to its transform data to stabilize your = source footage. This works really well in my experience.

Found the problem. I had the source video= layer=92s 3D switch turned on, which makes the layer go nuts after you add= text and 3D camera.

[Sorry if this double posts]

I=92ve been studying Brian Maffitt=92= s 3D camera tracker video=A0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3DM9ZeG7-QdSo=A0 and comparing my own results with a clip I shot with a Glidecam syste= m rotating around a basket sitting on a countertop.=A0 I get entirely diffe= rent results than those shown in Brian=92s video.

=A0

After an= alyzing/solving my clip by way of =93Track Camera=94, then picking the trac= king points that create a target plane of the correct orientation, then rig= ht-clicking that target and choosing Create Text and Camera, things go incr= edibly different than as shown in Brian=92s video at 3:30. In my clip=92s c= ase, after applying text and camera, if I then scrub through the comp my vi= deo clip layer wildly moves around and goes off screen, revealing the black= background, yet with all the tracking points and my new text layer correct= ly in place.=A0 I find myself needing to replace the original video layer f= rom which the tracking points were obtained because the original layer took= off, flying around as if it was constrained to some imaginary null that is= now the 3D camera=92s point of interest.

=A0

Very ann= oying. =A0I=92m doing the exact same things as shown in Brian=92s video, bu= t Brian=92s layer of the tree limb does not start moving around after addin= g text and camera.=A0 In Brian=92s video, when he adds Create Text and Came= ra, his text is immediately visible in the scene, In my case, I see a text = box, but no text. The text is actually laying behind my video layer. Very p= uzzling.

Any expl= anation?
