It is good to know how to get to an old project though. This one was fascinating in it's simplicity. In the old render outputs it said that the movie took 21 minutes to render. When I rendered it out now it took 30 seconds!

Honestly, I don't know if I'd go through all the effort for an animation done so long ago. Does the client pay you for backups of that age?

Personally I would tell the client it was done in an older version of the software that is no longer available and that remaking the animation would be a better choice to update it with today's design style / tech availability. What took you possibly many hours in 97 may take only one or two with the tech and skills you have now. Plus they'll have an HD version.

You also get paid to do new work instead of rehashing for cheap or free.

I've been asked to make some changes on an animation done in MacAE

version 3 in 1997! Yikes!!!

Anyone know what the last version of After Effects was that would open

an old file like that and would the file open at all on an Intel Mac?
